Sandra Heller
Sandra has over 30 years of experience working in various settings as a clinical and a school social worker. Her work has focused primarily with children and adolescents with a variety of presenting problems. Sandra includes her certified therapy dog, Filene, whenever appropriate, to create a playful, positive, relationship experience. She has found that Animal Assisted Therapy has promoted many new ways of providing a safe, caring and healing environment for her clients. Building a strong therapeutic connection with her clients is Sandra’s priority especially for those who have difficulties with trust, developmental and/or attachment disruptions and/or traumatic experiences impacting their functioning. Sandra is Person Centered in her approach with clients while utilizing CBT, DBT skills, somatic approaches and Animal Assisted Therapy. Sandra has a BS from University of Colorado-1982, MSW from University of Connecticut -1995, LCSW-2002, and AAT-2022.
